The foundation was established in 1933 and began to award grants, loans and medical payments in July of 1943.

It was Mr. Perkins’ who often expressed desire that Sheridan, city and county of Wyoming should receive the full benefit of his estate.

The Foundation has been guided by men of trust, each a professional, an expert in his field bringing to the Foundation needed expertise to administer the Trust for the benefit of those young people of Sheridan. During this time the BF and Rose H Perkins Foundation has helped several thousand qualified students realize their dreams, and in doing so have made Perkins' dreams and deeds live on through them.

From its small beginning over 70 years ago the Perkins Trust has grown into a multi-million dollar Foundation, a ladder built by trusted and qualified men, whose work and dedication has and will continue to help all eligible Sheridan County youth reach their goals.
